In 2017, Guerrero played for the Lansing Lugnuts, a minor league baseball team. He hit his first home run of the season in a game against the Great Lakes Loons. He did so well that he became an All-Star in the Midwest League. Then, he got selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game for the World team. After that, the Blue Jays decided to move him to the Dunedin Blue Jays. For the whole season, he had a .323 batting average, hit 13 home runs, and drove in 76 runs.
